Reamus Youth Theatre’s
The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare

Directed by Joanne McAndrews

August 16 to 31

The Taming of the Shrew is a classic Shakespeare comedy and one of the playwright’s most popular works. It’s based on the proverbial war between the sexes, and the plot pits an opportunistic, 16th-century lord against a headstrong woman, whom he is wooing in order to acquire her substantial dowry. Along the way suitors adopt disguises to woo their loves. The confident Petruchio tries to tame Katharina, the supposed shrew.

In a contest to determine the most obedient wife, Katharina wins - she has been tamed by Petruchio.
